05:30 My day starts early! I get up and have a
shower but I don't have breakfast.
06:15 I arrive at the stables. Then Bill arrives -
he's my trainer. He doesn't ride now but he's very
good with horses.
07:00 First, I check my equipment. Then I exercise
the horses for about three hours.
10:15 I'm hungry! I eat fruit and nuts, or a salad.
Jockeys don't eat very much - it's important to be
slim.
10:45 All the jockeys check their weight
11:30-12.30 The jockeys talk to their trainers. I
study the track to prepare for the races. Horse racing
can be dangerous - the horses run at 70kph.
13.00 This is an exciting time. The first race starts,
13.30-17.00 On a race day, I ride six or eight times.
17:30 The last race finishes and then I go home,
tired but happy
18:00 I make my bed and tidy my room - I don't
have time in the morning!
19:00 Kelly arrives - she's my flatmate. We prepare
dinner. I eat pasta or some chicken. Kelly eats steak
ar pizza!
19:30 Kelly does the dishes and then we read or
play CDs.
21:00 I do some exercise or I watch a DVD of the
day's races. Kelly says that's boring but I'm mad about
my job!
22:00 I go to bed after my fifteen-hour day! Kelly
doesn't go to bed early. She watches DVDs and at
weekends she goes to a club. Then she goes to bed
at about 3 a.m!
