Yellowstone National Park is in the northwest of the USA. For 11,000 years, areas around the park were occupied by Native Americans, but the park itself was created in 1872. Today, it is known for being an extremely volcanic area. Two thirds of the world's geysers are located in the park. These are springs of hot water from the ground. Every year, the park is visited by over 4 million people.
