Nowadays all teenagers are crazy about their mobile phones, laptops and tablets. All teenagers have mobile phones. They spend a lot of time sending messages, taking selfies and surfing the Internet.

The average teenager who is 13-18 years old spends about nine hours a day using their gadgets. Kids between 8 to 12 years old spend about six hours in front of screens. They usually watch shows, play computer games, chat with friends on social networks. The Internet is fantastic because it helps to keep in touch with friends and family when they are far away.

Children can join online groups for people with the same interests and problems. Gadgets are also useful for learning languages. You can chat with people from different countries, download special apps for language learning, watch videos and vlogs, listen to music and read books in other languages.

Many parents want their children to have a mobile phone so that they can call each other at any time or in any place. But they worry that their child may meet the wrong kind of ‘friends’ on social networking sites or that they can get cruel messages from school bullies. Some parents have rules about their children’s mobile phone and the Internet usage.
