I`m not really a fan of rock music, but my mother is, and last summer she took me to a concert of the legendary Metallica band in Moscow. It took place in Luzhniki. The stadium was full: around 70,000 people came to listen to Metallica.
My mother and I were rather far from the stage, but the concert organizers installed a few big screens so that everyone could see the musicians. The sound was great, as well as the atmosphere. A lot of the audience knew Metallica songs by heart and sang them along with the band. At times it was distracting, but added to the energizing atmosphere.
The culmination of the concert was a song by KINO band that Metallica sang in Russian. Their lead singer`s Russian was very bad, but it is the attempt that really mattered. Some people cried as they were listening. I hadn`t seen anything like that before.
