1)Sir Christopher Wren–English architect, the most prominent representative of English classicism, mathematician and astronomer. Architect of St. Paul's Cathedral in London from 1675 to 1710, as well as many London churches (53 in all), including St Bride, Fleet Street and St Mary-le-Bow, Chipside; Royal Exchange, Marlborough House, Sheldonian Theater (Oxford). His scientific works were highly valued by Isaac Newton and Blaise Pascal. Wren became one of the founders of the Royal Society of London and was its president from 1680 to 1682.
2)Buckingham Palace claims to be one of the most luxurious residences in the world. Judge for yourself: there are 775 rooms in the palace, of which 19 are state rooms, 52 are for the Queen, her family and guests, and 188 are for staff.
