Як випливає з його назви, це мюзикл, який розповідає історію двох старшокласників Троя Болтона та Габріелли Монтез, які хочуть зіграти головні ролі у своєму шкільному шоу. Трой – капітан баскетбольної команди, а Габріелла – сором’язлива дівчина, яка чудово вміє математику та природознавство. Проте попереду є деякі проблеми. Сюжет трохи слабкий, але актори гарні. Музика захоплива.
