The Dniepro city was founded in 1776 by order of Prince Potiomkin on the site of the Cossack free village of Polovytsia. It was named after the Empress Caterina ||. In 1787 she laid the first Foundation stone of the

Transformation Cathedral.

In 1926 the city was renamed after.Grigoriy Petrovskiy.

Now the city is named simply Dniepro city.

Dniepro is situated on the both banks of the

Dniepro river. It is beautiful and modern city.
