«The academic year abroad» — the program of a cultural exchange, was conceived and realized by group of enthusiasts of Europe and the USA upon termination of the II world war. The idea of the program - to show to youth the world, подружить earlier being at war countries. Over time to group of the countries participating in this exchange of school students, the new and new states joined, having come to present structure.
Now it is the international activity in 52 countries. Processes of reception and sending are carefully coordinated on the cities, families and schools.
Uniqueness of the program is that, having lived year in the country with other culture, language and a way of life, 15 - 18 summer people, with yet not issued outlook, has an opportunity as much as possible to realize everything, earlier "hidden" abilities, such as ability to adapt in any conditions and to communicate with people of different cultures, views and belief; responsibility, independence and ability to make decisions in critical situations; not to mention knowledge of a foreign language and thinner understanding of nuances of the international relations.
