The author writes about oompa-loompas in the 16th chapter in which Mr Wonka tells the factory visitors about their origin. They used to live in Loompaland surrounded only by the jungle. Caterpillars were their only food as there was nothing else to eat, and they dreamt of cacao beans. So when Mr Willy Wonka got to know this, he offered the oompa-loompas a job at his factory in exchange for cacao beans and chocolate.

In chapter 16 is a speech about oompa-loompa.Mr Vonka tell visitors where he brought them from. The lived in Loompaland. Everywere was only jungles.Oompa-loomps ate only caterpillars becouse they didnt have anything anouther. They dreamed of cocoa beans. Mr Villi Vonka recognized this and and invited them to work at his factory for cocoa beans and chocolate
