The face and back sides of the flag of Canada are identical. The flag has two-sided symmetry. The average strip is 1/2 the length of the flag. The side strips are the same, and the width of each is 1/4 of the length of the flag. Such a configuration of the flag was called the "Canadian pillar". In the center of the flag is a red maple leaf, which has been a symbol of Canada since the XVIII century [2]. The number of vertices - 11 has no symbolic meaning [3]. The number and order of the leaf ends were selected after testing in a wind tunnel. They showed that on the flag in conditions of strong wind the image of the eleven-pointed sheet is least distorted. This option was eventually decided to be placed on the national flag [4].null
