I'm sorry I did not answer immediately. I was fascinated by the book. Its title is The Picture of Dorian Gray. Do you know it?

While his own body remains fit and healthy, the image in the portrait becomes older and 
more ugly. Dorian is overcome with a deep feeling of sadness when he realizes that the painting will always be young and beautiful, while he will age. “How sad it is! I shall grow old, and horrible, and dreadful. But this picture will remain always young.If it were only the other way! If it were I who was to be always young, and the picture was to grow old! For that – for that –I would give everything! I would give my soul!” This was the beginning of the end for Dorian. As a writer Oscar Wilde has never gone out of fashion and, indeed, is probably now as popular as ever. 

What is powerful about this book is the clever dialogue, after reading it  made me want to know a lot more about Oscar Wilde. You may be interested in movie version, however, the book will be the best because you involve your own imagination.
This book is worth to head a list "must read".
