Many people today are concerned about the problem of bullying in schools and colleges being on the increase today. Moreover, while the problem of habitual bullying among schoolchildren and students is obvious the solutions are elusive.
According to recent surveys, more and more teenagers nowadays are suffering from bullying simply because the education system is not developed enough to avoid this disgraceful fact. Teachers are not authorised to prevent abusive behaviour from happening as well as parents cannot always control their children especially when they are outside their homes.
Another contributing factor is the lack of awareness on the part of schoolchildren and students of the dangers of bullying and its negative effects on children's health and behaviour. Teenagers living under constant pressure from their classmates cannot even do their homework properly. Their minds are consumed with fear and they are always looking for a way not to face threats caused by their bullies.
Taking these points into consideration I think that the government and individuals alike have to do something about this issue. For example, we could set up more cameras in schools and colleges monitoring hallways and recording all cases of rude and improper behaviour. Needless to say, that more strict laws must be passed to punish bullies more severely to deter them from wanting to intimidate their classmates in the future.
