These days most of us live in big cities and use digital gadgets every day. Naturally, there are few animals around. It hasn’t always been like this and not so long ago people lived in the countryside where there was no electricity. We kept domestic animals and those animals had been our close companions for many centuries. Obviously, no one can keep a cow or a pig in a modern two-room flat, but a small dog or a cat might be an acceptable option.

Living with a pet dog, for example, has real benefits. The owner has to go out for a walk at least twice a day, which is good for the owner’s health. Inevitably, the owner also has a regular schedule to keep, which means responsibility and reliability. The more time the person spends with the dog, the less time is wasted on electronic devices.  

However, there are some disadvantages to having a pet at home. Pets can be noisy and they need care and attention. Busy working people simply can’t always afford the time necessary to take care of the needs of their pet. As a result, both parties are unhappy.

To sum up, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages just because there is so much joy in having a faithful companion. The simple and unconditional love of a dog can make anyone’s life happier and complete. In my opinion, no gadget can be as funny and cute as a little puppy!
