If the noun is singular we use " is ". For example " a duck" on the 8th question. There is only one duck. So it is singular. This is why we use " is ".
If the noun is plural we use " are". For example " five boys" on the 10th question. There are more than one boy. So it is plural. This is why we use " are". Some and money refers to plural too. This is why we use "are" with them.
