"Maslenitsa" is the weekbefore Lent. Its when Russians say goodbye to winter and welcome spring. Its a time of singing, dancing and fun. There is a lot to eat, too - especially blinis, which are delecious butter pancakes.
Children dress up and play in the snow. We go for sleigh rides, go sledging, have snowball fights and lots more. We make a straw doll of "Lady Maslenitsa", who is dressed in special clothes. On Sunday evening, we burn Lady Maslenitsa on a big bonfire. The spring festival is over and Lent begins.

Дети наряжаются и играют в снежки. Ездим на санях, покататься на санках, поиграть в снежки и многое другое. Мы делаем соломенную куклу "Масленицу Леди", который одет в специальную одежду. В воскресенье вечером, мы сжигаем Леди Масленицы на большом костре. Весенний фестиваль закончился, и Великий пост начинается.
Діти одягаються і грати в снігу. Ми йдемо на санях, піти на санках, є сніжки і багато іншого. Ми робимо солом'яну ляльку " Леді Масляна", який одягнений в спеціальний одяг. У неділю ввечері ми спалюємо Леді Масляна на великому вогнищі. Почався весняне свято закінчений і постом.
