Слово "юрта" пришло в русский язык из тюркского jurt. Первоначально оно переводилось как "народ", позже так стали называть жилища кочевого народа, пастбища и даже родовые земли. В кыргызском языке есть слово "ата-журт" - отечество или родина, но буквально это словосочетание переводилось как "отцовский дом".
The word "yurt" came to the Russian language from the Turkic jurt. Initially, it was translated as "the people", later they began to call the dwellings of nomadic people, pastures and even ancestral lands. In Kyrgyz, there is the word "Ata-Jurt" - the fatherland or the homeland, but literally this phrase was translated as "father's house".
