Schools then and in the future
A hundred years ago classrooms looked very different
from today. There didn’t use to be any computers or
calculators. Teachers used to write out lessons on a
blackboard for the students to copy. The students used
to write with ink pens and class sizes used to be very
big. There were sometimes more than sixty students in a
class.
So, what will schools look like in the future? One way we
can get some idea is to look at science fiction films. We
see that technology will play an even bigger role in how
we learn. Many people believe that the schools will
become completely electronic. There will be no more
textbooks in lessons and everything will be done on
tablet computers. There could be virtual lessons and
teachers will be able to recreate a period from the past
in 3D in the classroom. There may even be robots
instead of teachers and your fellow classmates could be
taking part in the lesson from different countries around
the world. It’s an amazing thought.
