Some young sportsmen set their first records and some of them improved their previous results. The athletes needed many skills to complete in the fastest time and, of course, win the competitions.
Do you like watching sports events? This one was amazing. About 3 thousand volunteers were involved in the Universiade in Almaty. The main idea of the project was to unite the city's residents with the idea of a large-scale sport and involve them in positioning the city's image.
People said: “Holding the Winter Universiade in Almaty raised Kazakhstan's sport to a new level, strengthened the authority and image of Kazakhstan in the international arena.”
In 2017, Almaty hosted the 28th world winter Universiade. Kazakhstan became the first country of the former USSR to hold such a large-scale sports event as the Winter Universiade, and this event became a great sports holiday for the whole of Kazakhstan.
During the Universiade, the following competitions were held in 13 sports: biathlon, alpine skiing, curling, speed skating, cross-country skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, snowboard, figure skating, freestyle, bandy, ice hockey, and short-track.
