Чтобы перевести мысль из активного залога в пассивный, необходимо выделить дополнение (существительное, о которм будет речь в пассивном залоге). оно потом становится подлежащим. (в первом предложении этим дополнением будет Америка).
Затем определяем время, в котором построено предложение активного залога (в первом -- Past Simple).
Далее берём основной глагол активного залога и ставим в третью форму. С этого момента это причастие, оно будет стоять после глагола и никак не будет влиять на время. (discovered)
затем ставим глагол to be в нужное время, чтобы оно соответствовало времени активного залога (was).
1. America was discovered by Chistopher Columbus
2. About half of the US' territory is covered by mountains
3. Southern parts of England are rarely covered by snow
4. Warm air is brought to Great Britain by Gulf Stream
