How to Stay Healthy

A._____ People who eat a lot of fruit and vegetables are healthier. Eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. One portion includes one medium sized fruit e.g. a banana, an apple, one slice of melon or pineapple or two or three small fruit or berries, e.g. two plums or ten strawberries. Potatoes are not in the list because they have a lot of carbs.

B. _____ When people eat too much salt, they can have high blood-pressure (давление). If you like salty food, drink a lot of water for the balance. It’s better to reduce the amount of salt we add to the dishes because three quarters of our daily intake is in ready-made dishes we buy, e.g. cereal, snacks.

C. _____ We eat fats every day. There are some kinds of fats. The most useful is vegetable fat or oil. It is usually in olive oil, nuts, avocados. There is also saturated fat which should be eaten less. It’s in pies, meat, butter. Eat it but in small portions.

D. _____ If you eat a lot of sweet food and drink a lot of fizzy drinks, it can cause some dental problems. If you are on a diet, want to lose weight or feel healthier, start eating less sweet food. Eat fruit instead, they also have sugar, but they have some vitamins at the same time.

E. _____ Doctors say we should drink 6 glasses of water every day. The truth is that we should drink water, at least 6 glasses a day and not less. Water is very important for our body. It’s better not to replace it with coffee or tea. Drink clean water.
