What is reading for us? I think everyone will have a different answer to that question. I personally enjoy reading because it can take me to a different world where I can live other people’s lives and see wonderful places, which I have never been to, without leaving the comfort of my room. For me reading is in some way indispensable.
My favourite genre is detective stories. I can’t help reading them because on the one hand, they have an element of adventure, and on the other hand, there is always a mystery in the story. This combination makes this genre just perfect for me and reading detective novels stimulates my interest in human psychology as that is where the answer to the mystery usually lies. However, as much as I like detective stories, on occasions I also enjoy reading classic literature. It helps me learn something new about specific periods in history and shows how people used to act and think long before I was born.
In conclusion, I want to say that for me books are a source of great inspiration and, in a way, an emotional outlet, and that is why I love reading so much.
