The differences are mainly financial. As the capital city of the U.K. and the centre of the financial and artistic world, a lot of people want to live here and the cost of living in London is higher. Accomodation is very expensive. For example, a house in Birmingham, Britain's second biggest city, that might cost £200,000 would be more like £1 million in most parts of London. A one bed flat in Liverpool might cost £500 a month to rent. In London it might be £1400. Apart from that, most people in the UK are friendly and live happily in a multi-cultural society. People in Birmingham and out of London tend to be more friendly though. It's a slower and some might say better pace of life outside London. Although as Dr Samual Johnson wrote, “He who tires of London, tires of life!” It's a major capital city and everything is here! I run the London Literary Pub Crawl in central London and there is history and culture around every corner!
