Subject: Short Story Competition
Dear English Club,
I am writing to submit my short story to the English Club Short Story Competition. My story is titled "The Storm" and it is about a terrifying experience that I had on a boat during a bad storm.
I hope you enjoy my story.
[Your Name]
The Storm
I had never been on a boat before, but my parents convinced me to go with them on a fishing trip. I was excited at first, but then the weather started to turn bad. The sky became dark and the wind started to pick up.
My parents tried to reassure me, but I could tell that they were worried too. The waves were getting bigger and bigger, and the boat was rocking back and forth violently. Suddenly, a huge wave crashed over the side of the boat. I was thrown overboard and into the icy water. I struggled to stay afloat, but the waves were too strong. I thought I was going to drown. Just when I was about to give up hope, I felt a hand grab my arm. It was my father! He had jumped into the water to save me. My father dragged me back to the boat and my mother helped us to climb inside. We were all soaking wet and shivering, but we were alive.
The storm continued for several more hours, but we eventually made it back to shore safely. It was the most terrifying experience of my life, but I am grateful to my father for saving me.
